Thurtene Carnival: Pirate Ship
Thurtene Carnival is the largest and oldest student-run carnival in America. Every year the carnival partners with local St. Louis charities and non-profits to raise money and bring the STL community together. Student groups participate by building a façade around a central theme and sometimes preform a play inside to entertain the many kids who visit.
As one of the Overall officers for my group, I was in charge of artistic direction and delegation to other student volunteers. At the end of the carnival, our Pirate Ship won the Burmeister, an award given to the best overall façade.
