ANATOMY OF DOUBT

This book contains the transcript of a podcast called “The Anatomy of Doubt.” It tells the true story of Marie—who was raped—but no one believed her. She was restrained with her own shoelaces, which her loved ones did not believe. They thought she just wanted attention, until they heard on the news that a girl from a town over was raped in the same way. With shoelaces.

Unfortunately for Marie, she already paid a $500 fine and was doing community service for being convicted of false reporting. During the time that the police were charging Marie, her assailant went on to rape four more women. Two years later, her local PD paid her $500 back and apologized, but that didn’t mean much to Marie. The damage was already done.
